Ex Swissair CEO To Launch New Airline!

Sat Jan 17, 2004 3:06 am

Philippe Bruggisser, the CEO of the former SAir Group is planning to start a new airline. Euroblue would operate Airbus A319s in a business class configuration on flights mainly to the Middle East and Turkey. The Tribune de Genève said that he already raised CHF100 millions.

Besides this, lawsuits are pending against Mr Bruggisser for frauds, among other things.

After he and his colleagues destroyed the Swiss aviation sector, I wonder what he's really up to! Some people just never learn...

I wonder why he doesn´t go back to his roots which would mean placing an order for at least 20 A-380´s (with some more on option) and sending them to all places all over the world where nobody wants to fly.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Yeah, or buy Air Sudan, Yemenia and MyTravel Airways to form a worldwide alliance!

I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to buy a few money-loosing-airlines again - to convert them into C-Class airlines... some people just don't know when it's time to stop...
Smile - it confuses people!

Good idea actually.

I am sure he can make some money flying banking executives to the Middel East.

You'd think that after all this time Bruggisser would be in jail. Sometimes Swiss law just lacks compared to other countries. He lead a national pride to bankruptcy, cost the jobs of thousands and cost $2 billion to the confederation. Unfortunately, this is one of the cases where I'd have liked the Swiss to some sort of similar action as the US did with Enron...

Cheers,
Tim
