Ever Hallucinate On A Flight?

Tue Jan 20, 2004 3:32 am

Back in 1968 I was flying Southern Airlines from ATL to MEM. Being the long hair freak I was, I had some electric kool aid for dinner before the flight. I started to imagine the pilots were these monkeys from the Chimp Channel! And one was pulling the yoke back and forth while the other was running the throttle back and forth in as fast as he could! The plane was doing this porpousing thing, up and down... Then one monkey slapped the hat off the other monkey, and they rolled all over the floor fighting tooth and nail! I wanted to yell for the F/A but they were all dressed in these outrageous drag queen costumes, and on roller skates, serving the food like freaking car hops! And oh yes, the guy in the wool looking suite from all those Hitchcock movies, was sitting on the left engine, trying to light a joint!

Almost. It has been discussed on here that many people experience the odd sensation of push back from the gate before you actually push back. It feels as if you are moving, but when you look out the window, you clearly are not.

to answer the question, with a question?

ever managed to sneak E or A onto a plane, if you get away with it you will never regret it.

Artsyman,

That's a fascinating concept that you're talking about. I thought I was the only one who felt movement before push back. Perhaps, it's a little too much enthusiasm for getting going after waiting for the plane for an hour and lining up to board.

Hey! I do that pushback thing Artsyman was talking about on a regular basis! I always just thought I was weird or something. I would swear that the plane is pushing back from the gate when its not!

I truly hope no one tries that on any flight im on. You never know what that stuff is going to do to you and you might be the next topless lady screaming on a flight! In today's world I wouldn't suggest it on a plane...

I had this hallucination once that I arrived at a clean airport that seemed uncrowded, and that I passed through immigration in three minutes, and that everybody smiled and was polite, and my bag was already there when I got to the carousel. Then I realised that I wasn't halucinating - I was at Singapore.

Are you sure you weren't just flying Braniff?
