Escape From Victorville!

Wed Jan 21, 2004 3:56 pm

I always love to see an airliner get a 2nd chance....Today, UA ferried 747-400, N187UA out of VCV where she has ben resting for a few years to BFM (Mobile) for overhaul and return to service...

Does anybody else out there know of any more such 'escapes' recently?

BFM can handle a 747-400? I know MOB can, but Mobile Downtown? Come, now!
Change is: one airline, six continents!

UA sends most of there planes down to BFM for C and D checks now. I don't know how long the runway is though.

BFM's main runway is something like 9600' long...I'll say that it could EASILY handle a 747...
I got my head checked--by a jumbo jet
