State-side Airlines Flying To SVO

Thu Jan 22, 2004 10:02 am

Are there any other airlines besides Delta that Fly to SVO. I know PAN-AM did it for a while in the late 80s and 90s. Also - does any one know Delta's weekly schedule to SVO - judging from their site they are there every day. (A hell of a lot better than Aeroflot.) This is for my personal info - so I thank you in advance for your insights...

As far as I remember no one other then DL. Didn't TWA fly there as well? Guess this is the world of codeshare and alliances where the US carrier does not have to.

Delta is the only scheduled US carrier to Moscow, with daily 767-300 flights from JFK to SVO.

TWA flew briefly to Moscow, operating JFK-BRU-SVO, with a 727-200 on the BRU-SVO leg, in the late 1980's and early 1990's.

American and Continental (AA ORD-SVO, CO EWR-SVO) applied for the route authority, but never actually flew it.

American and Continental (AA ORD-SVO, CO EWR-SVO) applied for the route authority, but never actually flew it.

American, in addition, announced ORD-SVO and opened it for booking in early 1999, but canceled it because of weak market conditions.
