What Was SAA 744 Doing In Mauritius?

Thu Jan 22, 2004 2:10 pm

What was a South African Airways 744 doing in Mauritius on January 10?

I know that SAA flies daily to Mauritius by 738, but what's the special occasion? - which also brings me to another question - what is happening to the 744's now that SAA has A340's.

SAA occasionally uses widebodies (B747's,A340's) for existing and additional frequencies to Mauritius and other popular holiday destinations like Durban, George and Cape Town during peak holiday periods.

SAA will keep at least 6 of its B744's for services to London for the forseeable future once all the A340's have been delivered.
