SAS 737-500 Routes?

Fri Jan 23, 2004 4:59 am

When Swedish domestic airline Linjeflyg was absorbed into SAS in 1992, most of the former's 737-500s were retained by SAS for 1-2 years. During the brief time the ex-Linjeflyg 737-500s were operated by SAS, did they continue to be used on domestic routes and charters only, or was the type also used by SAS on scheduled flights to cities outside of Sweden? If so, what were some of the cities that had scheduled 737-500 service by SAS during the years 1992-1994?

They were almost exclusively used on Swedish dometic flights and charters. One noteable exception was one aircraft (SE-DNK?) that was fitted with an experimental flexible Business-/Tourist Class concept. This aircraft was used on a ARN-FBU-MAN rotation and possibly one more in the evening.
