Regards..

There is rumeors about BMI Baby changing all his fleet (at first 737 500). Remember that all this fleet is composed by old 737 (300 and 500) dismised by his mother company.

When BMI Baby is profitable BD will allow them to grow - until then it will be the current fleet.

The -500's are on their way out at the moment, to be replaced by -300's though I think this is on a 1 for 1 basis and not an expansion of the number of aircraft in the fleet.

There are two -300's at EMA now ex- GB Airways to replace the two -500's going to Thomsonfly. More -300's are expected soon.
As regards this comment from BestWestern:

All I can say is watch this space! We are getting our own AOC soon, it's all in place to become a separate company away from BMI. Things are looking good at Baby!  Smile

Simon,

When they become a separate company from Bmi do you think a name change may be on the cards so that the two airlines are recognised as separate companies rather than (as the current name suggests) a subsidiary?

After all, the mainline company is not in the best of shape at the moment and they don't have interlining flights between the two airlines. Maybe WW will want a name without 'Bmi' mentioned in it?

That's the bit I don't understand, because while the BMI is still in it's name, it will still be connected to BMI - British Midland.
But, as I said, it's all in place to gain the AOC, which also includes Baby doing their own training etc, which currently is done at the BMI training centre.
I've heard sales for the Summer are booming!

Also there's a promise of a new uniform too!! yay!!  Smile

Simon the Baby AOC was due about 12 months ago. One of the reasons for the delay is the additional costs required due to having to have 100% separate sections, such as Training, etc.

There is no doubt that BD have the necesary quality staff to gain the AOC.

I understoond that one plan was to merge WW into the BMIregional AOC.

Its good to hear about great summer loads, but it is the shoulder seasons that need to be successful, such as April and May, September and October.
