LSG Customers

Sat Jan 24, 2004 8:03 pm

Hi,

this is my first post on a.net. I was just wondering who the main customers of LSG Lufthansa Sky Chefs are? Do most of the Star Alliance airlines use this catering service? Are they still profitable with all the airlines cutting costs and serving less expensive or no food at all?

Welcome

It all depends on the airport here in the US. United uses LSG and Gate Goument. Both of these companies bought United flight kitchens in different cities around the US.

Did AA own Sky Chefs at one time and sell it off?

I'm surprised that Gate Gourmet and LSG Skychefs stay in business at all, considering the cutbacks in food served. Of course, I heard that they gouge the airlines on food anyway because they have a monopoly on their respective airports. Is that true?
