Hub Questions

Sun Jan 25, 2004 1:49 pm

The last few weeks, I've been wondering about this. I want to know what is Northwest's Main Hub-Minneapolis or Detroit? And what about Continental-Houston or NewarK?

"Main?" I think you mean largest.

NW - Detroit

Continental - Houston

NWA is headquartered in Minneapolis (or in some town nearby), but it has more traffic out of DTW.

NW---corporate HDQ's is in MSP. As to the amount of flights I don't know who has more.
CO---HDQ's are in IAH and is the largest of the 4 hubs. I think the last time I checked it was around 550 daily departures. (including COEX)

Minneapolis/St. Paul is not only where a hub is for Northwest but it is also where their headquarters are located. Detroit (DTW) however, is a larger hub. Houston is the largest hub plus the headquarters city for Continental.

You all responded that DTW is a larger hub, but MSP is their largest hub by passengers carried. Northwest has the greatest number of seats from MSP but has more flights from DTW. For Continental, IAH has more flights, but EWR gets more passengers.
