I've flown on two European carriers, as follows, and their economy-class service sure beats that of any American carrier I've flown!
Aer Lingus (ORD
& back in April 2002): My favorite European airline (since I'm Irish-American, please pardon my Irish bias)! Friendly, very attractive Irish flight attendants (many were red-heads) demonstrated the legendary Irish hospitality (which I also experienced in my motherland, of course). Wonderful dinner and breakfast onboard. Even the immigration officer in DUB
whom I met on arrival was friendly and cheery! Upon my arrival back in ORD
, one of EI
station staff ladies was friendly and warmly asked how my trip was! I'd definitely fly Aer Lingus again--hopefully to move to Ireland someday!
May 2003): Upon boarding their colorful A330 at MAN
, all of us were given complimentary bottled water. I also got a BMI
amenity kit in economy, which I still have today! Wonderful onboard service with British efficiency. I got to choose from a printed menu in my seat back pocket for dinner, which was also great. MAN
is also a great airport for spotting, by the way (with a rooftop spectators' deck)!
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... (Psalm 139:14)
