Jet2 Wins Awards For Services Into Amsterdam

Tue Jan 27, 2004 8:44 pm

Some Jet2 news:

Amsterdam airport have announced that Jet2.com have come out as the most punctual European LCC into AMS and the most punctual UK airline to fly there.

The full story can be read by clicking here:

Not bad considering they only commenced ops in Feb 2003. Lets hope they can keep up the good work.

Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up

This is great news for Jet2, but I'll be curious to see how things go over this winter season once the real LBA bad weather kicks in !!!.

Doesn't seem that much of a triumph when they only operate two services a day.

Considering the weather we have had up in the North this evening, time-keeping will be stretched to the limit in the morning.
Why drive when you can fly?

Trident2e,

Yes, they only operate two services a day to AMS, but they also only have a small fleet and the fleet does keep busy on other flights in between the AMS services (with the everyday risk of creating knock-on delays for later flights).

Large fleet/higher frequency = more aircraft to turn to when one goes tech or gets delayed.

Small fleet/lower frequency = fewer flights risking getting delayed but bigger impact if an aircraft goes tech or gets delayed.

Its all swings and roundabouts so the fact that they serve AMS twice a day should not detract from the award AMS has given them.
