Aloha's new website is up! It's far better than their previous one!!! It's quite "flashy"!!!!

Yeah, I agree with you MAH4546, the route map is very well set-up, with how long each flight lasts showing as well, with distances. Aloha has cheap fares too! And it also operates to other islands in the Pacific on the other side of Hawaii, which I have never heard of. But I think Aloha is well on its way to becoming very successful, it's already an awesome airline!!!

Great website. I was planning a trip to ITO in March during the Spring Break period and was constantly checking the website for a great fare. They now offer 10% off a ticket when purchased on-line. Well today I went on again and got a ticket for $299.00 R/T OAK-HNL-ITO-HNL-OAK.

I originally selected the routing OAK-HNL-OAK and got a fare of $288.00 R/T. Since I need to end up in ITO for that weekend, I later went and did a OAK-ITO R/T and got the HNL-ITO-HNL roundtrip for $11.00 more. What a STEAL!!!

Originally I was getting fares from $450.00-$540.00 R/T.

Unbelievable. I LOVE AQ!!

Yes guys, it's up and running. I went to the site today and VOILA! it was new! I got really excited and starting messing around with it. Did you guys see the new FF program they got going on too now? Fliboyz, that is a great fare from OAK to ITO. I would love AQ too with a fare find like that. I tried to book a HNL-SNA-HNL r/t over Spring Break and it was near $600 on their site, or was it $700. I mean, c'mon AQ, we know you have the monopoly on this route, but really? You can fly over SNA-HNL-SNA for about half of that. Let's see if they get the slots at Regan now. That would be fun if they did. No need to transfer a/c to go to the East Coast!

HNLflyboy-

Yeah it's pretty cool. However I don't just love AQ for the fare that I got. The romance still continues after working for them for over 8 years. I don't work for them now though.

I think because of spring break, the fares are a little higher from anywhere because of the higher seat demand. I don't know for sure.

I was trying several times before I got the outrageous fare yesterday. It was quoting me prices like you mentioned too. I guess you just got to keep on trying. I called my friend yesterday who works for AQ in KOA and he said that they post specials like that every time. So keep on trying. And yesterday after I had booked my trip I tried again 2-3 times more and it still had seats at that fare. $299.00 R/T.

I said WOW!!!! You can bet that if they get the slots to Reagan, that I will be on that inaugural flight providing I get seats in time.

Well good luck on your search and maybe you can get a fare like I did.

Hey you think AQ is eyeing other places in California or beyond? I know for sure they are eyeing New York once the Reagan slots are announced. This is from my friend in KOA. I think SAN will be a top choice.

HNLflyboy-

Just went back to the AQ website and selected SNA-HNL-SNA. It pulled up several routings. Even from BUR-HNL-BUR. That BUR-HNL-BUR R/T is quoting at $279.00 R/T. The SNA-HNL-SNA R/T is quoting at $602.00 R/T.

The cheaper fare is noticeable because it says PROMOTIONAL FARE.

Again good luck on your search.

Fliboyz,
my origin is HNL and not the US Mainland, so that could explain why I am getting the fares I am and not the ones you are seeing. I'll keep trying though. Also, I agree with you if they get Regan, they will be eyeing NYC next, but which airport? EWR? LGA? Surely not JFK...no offense to AQ, but I like the fact that they fly into the smaller, less served marketplaces. It appears to be working very well for them too. Not that EWR or LGA are "less served marketplaces", but they are JFK's neighbors.

Wedgetail737,

ITO = Hilo, Hawaii - Hawaiian Islands

I would be surprised if EWR gets AQ unless they want to be up against CO, which I think they still have nonstop service to HNL with a 764. LGA will be difficult because of the restriction beyond the flight perimeter established. That leaves JFK. Will they go up against B6 on the JFK-OAK route or AA on the SNA-JFK route? They're flying against both WN and HP on the OAK-LAS route...why not?

Does anyone know if AQ will reinstate the OAK-LIH route?

HNLflyboy-

My friend who works in KOA for AQ said JFK is a good bet.

Wedgetail737-

Yes, the OAK-LIH is a seasonal service. It will return during the summer peak months.

As for the routing JFK-OAK or SNA-JFK, AQ has to fill the plane only half full to break even and start making money on the particular route. So I think as far as competition goes, AA would have to worry the most. I think AQ can make it work. After all, just being an airline from Hawaii serving a market from the East Coast and a brand name "ALOHA" would attract people.

Anyway. That's what I think.

HNLflyboy-

Did you go to the website again? I just went. I don't know the dates you are trying to fly. I tried the 18-22 and than the 17-23. The later gave me a routing HNL-BUR/SNA-HNL R/T total $284.00 The HNL-SNA-HNL R/T gave me $504.00 R/T with the SNA-HNL portion as part of the promotional fare. If you are flexible with your dates and your routings, you may get a very low fare this way. Or keep on trying for HNL-SNA-HNL, you may get lucky and get one this way too.

Good luck!!  Wink/being sarcastic

Fliboyz,

I am using the 20/21 March returning on the 27/28 March. I think that is Spring Break here, so everyone must be going to LAS or something. Most of AQ's flights continue to LAS. That must be why the fare is so high.

I have only heard good things about AQ's service, both in F and Y. I really want to try it, but will wait for fares to come down a bit. I have enough mileage to u/g one-way. So I might be able to experience both services on one trip. For sure I would write a TR.

Wow! This is neat!

I love the new route map with times and distances, very interactive and exciting. The flash based website is an improvement too.

One thing has to be said though, in that I do miss the amount of blue they had on the old website. Gave it a very "pacific" feel. The new site is heavy on the orange.

Another thing is that the main part of the site doesn't take up the full screen, lots of open, blank white space that they could probably fill in with colour or something. The old site was good with filling empty space. With all this blank area it gives the site a feeling of not being finished yet. Plus the old links at the bottom, similar to the links on UA's website, are gone now too. It'd be nice to have those back for ease of navigation.

Other than that it's good. It needs some work, but its good.
