Financial Health Of Vbird?

Wed Jan 28, 2004 8:38 pm

I'm planning to go on a trip to MAN, using VBird's new service via NRN. However I don't really trust them - there have been many cancellations and I have also heard chaotic trip reports by several people.
How's the financial health of that company? Is there anything available on their loads, profits/losses etc?
I don't want to book and pay and get stranded later...

Hi Udo,

Here in the Netherlands nobody seems to know about this airline. It seems marketing is not their best feature.

I know about the existance of VBIRD because of a.net...

I did tell my father in law about VBIRD though and he´s booked us all on a trip from NRN to VIE in May.

Hope they´re still there then...

Was at NRN airport just last week, it's a cool looking little airport. I wish VBIRD all the best!!

Hi!

I just did a paper on them an NRN.
A lot of the cancellations were due to weekend flight regulations that a small Dutch village enforced (Bergen).
But that is overruled now.

I can't give you that much more details on the topic since I haven't flown them yet.

You should be safe though!
Where have all the tri-jets gone...

Thanks for your comments!

I guess I will take the risk. I don't mind about safety, I would fly almost anything out there, but I just don't want to lose my money.

Btw, for how long will VBird use the leased Dutch Bird A320?
