Blue1's Cabin Factor

Wed Jan 28, 2004 11:15 pm

Does any one of you know anything about Blue1's profitability? There seems to be pretty much flight cancellations on their routes to Dusseldorf and Brussels. They are also going to open new routes to Berlin and Hamburg during March. Company's total average cabin factor was around 45 % during 2003 which sounds quite low. Competition with Finnair must be very hard so how Blue1 is able to handle this situation?

I don't know about the other routes, but one thing I know for sure is that on the HEL-BRU route they are not performing really well.... on average maybe something like 30 pax or so board each of their 2 daily flights.

Last week, I took their flight HEL-ARN (thursday@4pm), and I would say that the flight was almost 100% full.

It was my first flight on Blue1, and I was very pleased - good service (for a 45 minute flight), nice aircraft, codeshare with SK, ... Very good!
