747 Quotes

Thu Jan 29, 2004 3:33 pm

Hello All,
a good friend of mine who works at Boeing has asked me to see if anyone can think up of good quotes to promote the 747 in 2004. I presume it will be in a pamphlet. If anyone knows, or can think up of any please let me know, all assistance would be appreciated, and you might even be famous!!!
Thanks a lot

"The World's Connection"
"Bigger Technology, Smaller World"
"Transport of the Skies"
"Bridge to the World"

And for humor's sake, "Bubble in the Air," "Strato-bus," "Bloated 777"  Big thumbs up

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Sean Merritt

Do you mean along the lines of "I laughed until I stopped"...or "It's a game of two halves" ... or "It won't be over until the final whistle".

Seriously....are Seattle so devoid of good customer feedback they're resorting to a chatboard for good quotes of their products to put in a pamphlet?!?

OK... "It's BIG" - there, that'll do them for another 2 years. Now where's my fee?

Yeah well I guess they want something new, something fresh from the general public. I guess Boeing is desperate, but what to do!

I highly doubt any rhetoric I spew would make Boeing's publications, but do let me know if anything could be used. Even if nothing is, I'd like to know what they end up choosing.  Big thumbs up

Cheers!

sure thing, personally I don;t really care what they choose, I guess if it sounds catchy to me, then it should work for them. I guess if they are resorting to the general public for help, then the must be pretty desperate!!!!
Cheers

How about this South African one to describe how well you feel or how well things are going?:

"Going like a Boeing"

...which is of course great, unless your Boeing is stuck at the gate and U/S because of some technical problem...

(not in anyway an anti-boeing, pro-airbus comment either...it can happen to both of 'em)

Well, Lymanm, thats crap, because Boeing would have to advertise the 777-300ER then with "Please buy the most overpriced product in civil aviation industry" too!

And the "highest operating cost" thing is bull****. The 744 flies, at high loads, cheaper than the 777!

I read something about flying when I was a kid, something to do with the past and where we wanted to go in the future, what we thought would be possible and maybe plausible. It questioned whether our forbears, looking into the future, would believe that we would either fly faster than the speed of sound or fly hundreds of people at a time from continent to continent. Well we've done both and the bigger, less plausible feat is the latter.

I'm surprised no body has asked this question, but could this mean Boeing is planning something for the 747 in 2004? Like a 747 Advanced or an updated 744?!! I sure as hell hope so as it would royally screw the A380!!!!!!

Hmm, Boeing already came up with that, except it's "If it ain't..."

"Please buy our clapped out 35 year old design with 15 year old avionics, featuring the highest operating cost in the industry!"
How about for the A346: "Please buy our new plane that looks flashy, our launch customer made too much media attention over, entered service late, things are already falling and breaking apart, passengers are cramped and don't like them, and the customers want to return them!"

Or how about (346)..."this is a brand new airplane, and the stuff you are complaining about either comes along with the introduction of any new plane or depends on each individual airline (cramped passengers)"...

GIMME A BREAK!!! How is it that whatever the thread, it always gets turned into an A vs B battle?  Insane

And for the topic, sorry, I can't come up with any more, but I love "You'll think you've died and gone to heaven when you fly a 747"  Big thumbs up

Sebastian
