CO To Punta Cana

Continental, yesterday, filed with the US DOT to begin service between Newark and Punta Cana. Service would begin on June 10 with Boeing 737 aircraft. No exact schedules were provided in their filing.

I thought at one time CO did fly there? If not good to hear they are starting.

I don't believe so on a scheduled, COIAH99, maybe charters. CO presently serves Santo Domingo (SDQ), Puerto Plata (POP), and Santiago de los Caballeros (STI), in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana would mark their fourth DR destination, all served from EWR. AA, NW, US and U5 all serve PUJ on a scheduled basis from the US, as well.

NWA on Saturday's from MSP during the winter too....

Punta Cana is a HUGE resort area. Good to see CO (hopefully) start service.
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

LanPeru also serves Punta Cana from the US. Saturday 767-300ER service from MIA.
