KLM: Which 747 Between AMS And SIN?

Sat Jan 31, 2004 6:58 am

Does anyone know which series 747 operates between AMS and SIN? Amadeus says the 74M, which is the non-specific code for all 747 combi aircraft, whereas SIN's website says its the 744. Which is it? Does anyone know which series combi aircraft it would be? Cheers!  Wink/being sarcastic

Also, SIN's site says that a '74SF' operates the weekly freight flight routing SIN-DXB-AMS. Is this the 747-200F? The airline uses 747-200 and -400 freighter aircraft.

Not sure on your flight but i'm pretty sure KLM use the Combi to SIN.

KLM no longer operate the 747-200F, they have been replaced with 747-400ERF's!

Oh right. In my 2003/4 edition of JP Fleets, it says they operate 2 747-200Fs and 3 747-400Fs (ER). When were the 747-200s replaced? Obviously the cargo flight must be the 747-400, then. :-P

and the passenger flights as well, as KLM has retired all 742s and 743s. Only 744s left.

Oh! So KL now only uses the 744 and 744 (Combi) on its passenger flights, and the 744 (ER) on its freight flights?

Pearson : Most of the time they fly 744M to Singapore and yes, they fly only 744ERF replacing the 742F last year.

Both my flights last week were all on 747-400 Combis (City of Rio de Janeiro and Calgary respectively)...
