UAL 777 in old colors

Tue Jan 05, 1999 6:03 am

On a similar note to the AA 777, I'm sure you all have seen the
photo of the UA777 in old colors on airliners.net. I found that
pretty strange too - didn't united take delivery of its 777s in
the new colors?
I've flown on 9V-SPK.

jr: you are right on that. No UA 777 was painted in the old livery. Someone might be doing a little creative editing here.

Yeah, i'm sure it's a fake too. They didn't recieve any 777s in their old livery like jz said.

Paul, where did you see the original on airliners.net? I'll look for it!

I must be slipping. I went right past that one to glance at the AA777 to examine. And I didn't key onto it!!!. No 777 where delivered in the old United scheme. In fact the second prototype wore the new United scheme not the Boeing house colors. I belive that the number one 777 was the only one that was painted in the factory scheme, can anybody confirm that???

We don't need to have edited pictures on the planes page. But I don't think a page dedicated to edited photos (aka fakes) would be a bad idea. It does take some talent to come up them.

Yes, they are both fakes. You can tell if you look close enoguh. United began painting 777 in their new scheme, and not one ever went in the old. sorry. by the way, that is supposedly N777UA, which I belive took delivery late, when at least 80-90% of planes were in the new colors!

L188, you are right about only the first one being painted in house c/s.
