Can't find the link but BA is to move its entire operation at LHR to T5 in 2008. It had originally been planned to happen over a four year period. Whether any of the oneworld carriers will move with it is uncertain.

BAA's plans for LHR after the move are uncertain (Unless anyone can tell me differently). I'd guess VS or SkyTeam might be interested in a vacated T4 - I'm assuming it's too small for Star. I'd figure they might prefer a revamped T1 - be plenty of room in there with BA gone. Even a T1/T3 split would work for Star.

I would have thought T4 was sufficient for Star needs. Star Alliance carriers would have fewer longhaul flights and more shorthaul flights than BA had out of T4 so some gate reconfigs (for smaller aircraft) would be necessary.

AC/UA/ANA/Thai longhaul.
BD/LH/OS shorthaul.

Incidently, will all One World carriers (QF, EI, AA) also relocate to T5 with BA?

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

One interesting piece:

"We cannot fly bigger aircraft at Heathrow until the airport has more terminal space. This it cannot have until at least the middle of the next decade. For that time scale British Airways is considering bigger aircraft such as the A3XX, provided they achieve the reduced seat mile costs and environmental improvements that the manufacturers are predicting with increasing confidence."
Some see lines, others see between the lines.

YYZ717, you forgot to mention NZ, OZ, SQ and RG on the longhaul front and SK on the shorthaul. T4 wouldn't really be big enough given that BD alone is LHR's second biggest user. LH, SK, UA and AC all have a fairly big presence there too. And why would BAA want to reconfigure T4 for S/H use anyway, given that T1 and T2 will provide ample when BA vacate?
