Aid Flying?

Fri Feb 06, 2004 4:00 am

I was looking at the possibilities of working as a pilot in Africa or underdeveloped countries on other continents, flying 210's and similar aircraft to remote villages in need of doctors, food and so on.

I came across a few organizations on the web, but found a big (for me) catch. All of them require their pilots to be religious and a few of them even required a year-long bible school before one was eligible to apply.

With all due respect to the religious people, does anyone here know of any organizations with no interest in the personal beliefs of their pilots?

Best regards,

johan

Johan, you might have better luck finding an answer to your question on the African Aviation forum on PPRuNe.

Carduelis, yes I have my PPL, no instrument or commercial, but these ratings will sure be added when I can afford to. That's all it takes, plus something around 500 hrs of total experience on single engines. It sure sounds like an exciting job, doesn't it?

PS. Thanks Ryanair, I'll check it out.
