I believe he means where the aircraft is coming from. Air Canada 873 (the flight in question) runs between FRA and YYZ. It has diverted to CLE due to inclement weather in YYZ.

It was only on the ground a short while. I was taking a nap around 4 and heard "Air Canada something Heavy" depart, so that surely was him. Oh well, after that AN-225, not seeing a 747 isn't so bad.  Big thumbs up

It was parked off of concourse Alpha, It was a beautiful plane. It left around 4-4:15. And of course, there was the chase truck .
I saw it first at the Brookpark rapid station. It was facing the Berea Freeway with airstairs pulled up to it.
I must have been up in the observation deck for about 10 mins, and it started to move.
I thank my supervisor for asking me to work on Fridays  Smile

CLEWatcher - What is a chase truck? Also, did you get any pics for the DB?

Chase trucks make sure debris wasn't blown around by the 747. For some reason CLE insists on having a chase truck and clean up crew after any departure of a 4+ engined widebody. I don't see why it's neccessary as CLE can handle such planes with ease.

My guess is that with the engines extending out over the edge of the runway. I saw all that dust getting blown back  Smile. I guess small rocks could get into an engine or cause a smaller plane to blow a tire.
No, I didnt know anything about this plane coming, so I didnt grab my camera, Anyway, I wouldnt have been accepted, Its a really bad digital camera, And i didnt have the money for a throw-away camera.
