Europe To Madagascar Flights?

Can anyone who has recently flown from Europe to Madagascar comment on airlines such as Corsair, Air Madagascar, Air Austral, and Air Bourbon-which is best value for money?

All I can say is at least with MD you wont be in a sardine can.
I'd probably opt for another alternative- Air Mauritius first. Then MD, UU, Bourbon and Corsair last.

Thanks ETA Unknown-Good Advice! I have flown MK and they are probably the best airline in that region...I want to try one of the niche French/French Territory operators, but perhaps MD would be a good choice.

I flew Air Mad last Fall and was pleasantly surpised by the service. They are using an ex Air Canada 767-300 ER on the Paris-Tana route. Business class was exceptional and economy was pretty good.

Air Madagaskar is flying between Paris CDG and Madagaskar 4 times a week on a 763 and Also to Milan 3 times a week on a 763.

Air MAdagascar flight from MXP is operated by Blu Panorama, a specialized charter operator with very good reputation in Italy.
They changed their policy from charter to scheduled services on the same holyday route they have served on behalf of national carrier as Air Madagascar or Cubana.

Good space but not PVT.

The brandnew 777 from UU is also very good. But perhaps its better to fly directly from CDG to tananarive then transiting in REU.

If you really want to kill two birds with one stone I strongly suggest you go through South Africa, but that may be slightly more expensive.

You can fly all the major airlines to South Africa, (KLM, BA, Lufthansa, Emirates, etc and obviously South African Airways), and then fly Air Madagascar / Air Austral / Interair from JNB to TNR.

One good thing is that onyour return trip you when you go through South Africa, you can visit Cape Town, Durban, the countryside, etc. Its a really beautiful country. Its worth the price if u wanna go on a holiday to 'africa'

One other major point is if you are more comfortable in an English environment, South Africa should be your gateway too.
