How is Kuwait Airways now ?

The last time I flew with KU dates back twenty years : GVA-KWI-BOM and BOM-KWI-GVA.
KU was quite OK at that time.

My wife and our two daughters will fly with KU :

MAA(Madras)-KWI-GVA in May + GVA-KWI-MAA in July.

They are used to LH but no seat in couch is available on the LH flight in July as they have just decided now this trip to Europe. They will have a transit time of two hours at least in KWI on both ways. The flight is operated with a A310 between India and Kuwait and with a A340-300 between Kuwait and GVA (stopover in FRA without deplaning).

How is Kuwait Airways now ? What about their service and real help, for example if the flight MAA-KWI is arriving too late in KWI to ensure the connection with their once a week flight KWI-GVA ?

Thanks for your help and your most welcome comments.

Cheers. Kilavoud.

KU flies to GVA twice a week as far as I know and now with B 772s sometimes and FRA is part of the route leg.

It has PTVs in every seat of the A 310 and A 343-B772 so dont worry...overall for Eco class its a 4 star airline with good well mannered cabin crew, good IFE and good meals. If your family miss their GVA connection due to KUs own fault then dont worry...KU will go out of their way to put them on another airline's flight to GVA via another Arab or European city.

Bahramjee is correct in saying KWI-GVA is a twice-weekly service. Last summer it was trice weekly, 2 via FRA and the third was a KWI-GVA-LHR leg. However, this third (extra) service was only operating june-sept, the peak summer travel season.

However, when the time comes and its time for their travel to GVA, you could use Kuwait Airport's website to check on their flight arrival (from MAD) and their subsequent departure to GVA. Go to www.kuwait-airport.com.kw and choose 'Flight Information' option from the menu. This should help reassure you as to whats going on there and if they'll make their onward connection. Sort of a re-assurance to you.

Good luck to them and hope they have a great summer with you there.

Sleak76

Thank your so much information. That's right, KU has got to flights to GVA, but only one is connecting with the flight from MAA (Chennai) and this vice versa.

I appreciate your kindness and the fact you want to reassure me.

All the best and Cheers. Kilavoud.
