Your Favorite Airline Club

What is your favorite airline club?

I have never been in one and I don't know what they are all about but from what I read I think the USAir Club looks pretty nice.

When it comes to an individual domestic club, the RCC at SNA is my favorite.

Worldwide, I would say that the SK clubs are at the top, with SQ close behind.

Although I am a member of the President's Club (and love them), I also really enjoy NW's WorldClubs because of the self-serve bar (not that I'm an alcoholic or anything... but it's nice to be able to mix your drink as you like it and not have to stand at a bar waiting for the bartender to notice you).

hmm, well the VS club in LHR is great (naturally I am biased) with the people there to press your clothes while you take a shower (GREAT shower heads by the way) and the salon is also a great place to waste some time whilst waiting to check into your hotel after noon. SQ clubs are really the best anywhere I believe, with the exception noted above of the Cathay Club at Hong Kong. Of course now that I have to pay my own way most places, they dont let me even breathe near their doors, but with my parents, or on business the clubs are a more than welcome treat!

truth, love, and VS!

Cathay Pacific First "The Wing" in Hong Kong is just the best in the world!

I second (or third) the choice of the Cathay Lounge in Hong Kong...absolutely amazing...beautiful, large, lots of food options.
The Star Alliance one in Zurich is quite stylish as well.
As for US Clubs, they are all pretty similar I find - looks like they were all designed by the same designer.

Generally the best clubs are the ones at the airlines home base, be it UA at Chicago, AA at Dallas, CO at Newark, etc...

Worst home club is Air Canada Maple Leaf in Toronto Terminal 2..cannot wait for the new terminal! Get some windows!!!!!!!!

cheers

I always use the Presidents clubs when I travel. It is nice to not be charged for your drinks. AA charges you for drinks in their clubs. I also got a good deal from being platinum elite. A bigger discount, on top of a good offer to join.
I was in Amsterdam for Thanksgiving last year. I used the KLM club at Schipol and I was very, very impressed. Nice selections of foods and drinks. The club was HUGE and very tastefully appointed.
The Presidents club is getting old with its choices of the same cheese, crackers and unripe fruit. I always eat the bags of nuts and chips.

From my experiences:

The best lounge is usually located at the airline based or their big hub.
For example, CX, SQ lounge in SFO are just so-so.

Here are some good ones, mostly at their base:

- CX First "The Wing" in HKG is very fancy with great food. You can get your
little personal room to take a little nap, very nice touch.

- SQ First in SIN is also pretty nice all around. Although it can use some windows and view. SQ overall facility for First at Changi is just really nice and in the class by itself. It starts from the curb side counter, separate
checkin lounge, easy access to immigration. It's very nicely done and I haven't seen anything that even compares to it yet.

- MH First in KLIA probably has the best, grandest view that I have been too.
Facility there is not up to par with CX/SQ standard though.

- UA International First in SFO is the fanciest US airline lounge I have been too. It felt like sitting in a country club rather than an airline lounge.

- AA International First in BOS is not too bad either. Staff was very attentive
when I was there.

Not that impressive lounges at their base airport:

- ANA First lounge in AA), Japan">NRT is just so so facility with nice attentive staff.

- TG International Business Class Lounge in BKK.
Not much to write home about.
I haven't been to their first class lounge if they have one. I haven't flown
TG in F or P for ages now.
TG domestic Business class lounge is barely acceptable IMO. It's just a bit
better than sitting in general waiting area. They sorely need to improve this
facility. This is what happen with a lack of competition.

The old TW Ambassadors Clubs were great. The AC Maple Leaf Lounges rock. They have PS2's in the lounges and free alcohol.

BA and EK by far. I've tried many others...Qantas isn't too shabby and neither is Lufthansa's.

My personal favorites:

Qantas Domestic Lounge at SYD

American Airlines Admirals Club at CDG

British Airways Club Europe Lounge at LHR

United Airlines Red Carpet Club at AA), Japan">NRT

SAS Club at OSL

Aer Lingus Club (Gold Lounge or something?) at JFK

AA Admirals Club at ORD

UA RCC at ORD

I'm visiting the combined AA/QF lounge at LAX--I'm hoping that will break into my favorites list.
