Largest Denied Boarding

Tue Feb 10, 2004 2:07 pm

I wonder what is the largest denied boarding for cause that any of you airline employees have experienced? I also bet there are many good denied boarding stories that haven't been on "airline" or any other TV show. On "Airline", Southwest in Chicago came close to denying boarding to a party of 40 due to their behavior on a previous flight. Some of that behavior involved scaring other passengers by saying they were going to crash, screaming, running up and down the aisles, and persistently disobeying the crew's instructions (a federal offense). I bet there have been some groups at least that large recently that have actually been kicked off.....

I heard that Skyservice left 32 people at the gate in YEG a couple weeks ago beacuse their a/c went mechanical and the replacement 757 they chartered in did not have the same seating configuration, and no one realised this mistake until the a/c was boarding...

does an overbooked flight and subsequently rebooked pax count as "denied boarding"?

A 757 booked to 210....holds 190.......went on a mechanical....A 737-300 with 134 seats was used as the replacement.....204 people showed up for the flight. You can do the math.
