Find the A&E crews! Best spot in Midway is watching SWA deal with all those nasty drunks on their planes!  Big thumbs up

There are no real good places to watch anymore as Hitler's son (Mayor Dailey) put up huge "blast barriers" around the airport. If you are in the airport i would think the best place to look is in the food court inbetween the A & B concourses. You can get a real good view of ATA operations from the hallway to gates A4A and A4B.

We could switch to Mao Zedong, Stalin, Ghengis Khan if youd wish. Daley is an idiot, if you follow Chicago politics you would know why.

AMEN GUYS!!!!!

Daley is a DICTATOR, i like to refer to Chicago as the "kingdom", the population as the "subjects" and Daley as Richard the Seond and his father as Richard the Great  Smile/happy/getting dizzy Dont get me wrong, I was born and raised in this city and I love it to death. But I hate our dictator.

AlitaliaORD: How has he done anything FOR aviation??? Especially after he had his henchman destroy Meigs against his word and contract not to, because he felt like doing it. The man abuses his power and does what he wants when he wants, and he has the media in his pocket to make sure no one speaks out against him.

As for Midway, the only good spotting points now are on the top of the parking garage, and in a plane itself. The ENTIRE airport used to be great for viewing, but the King decided to change that, against us peasants' will.

In the GA parking lot. Go to 63rd street from N. on Circero turn left to till before the stop light and right before the firedepartment. Wavie and guy in shack and drive striaght to the GA parking lot It is right below the tower. Nice people and an Ok left open spot. ORRRRR you can go to the parking lot next to the big SWA hanger.

For 31 runways, just go to 63rd and Cicero. Just head south to 63rd street and head south till you see a vacant lot between a Burger king and a Oil Express. That is a good spot. Another is 63rd and Central. Just head west on 63rd till you get to the end of the airport (it's the next street you can see past the airport.) just spot there, you have this park, a sidewalk next to a store, and other sidewalks. I would not go to the parking garage cause they may be up there and security may come, I tried it and had some up there.

For the 31 approaches- sit in the White Castle parking lot on Cicero & 63rd with a sack of sliders.... Oh, life is good!
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.

The Carpark is okay for viewing and also taking approach pictures when they landing on 22L. Most of the times they using 31 Center. The best spot here is a Intersection close by McDonalds, but you have to watch out for all the lightpols. A B753 is very tight with a 50 mm shot.
Besides the approach and carpark there are not many good vintage points, because the entire airport is surrunded by a wall, rather then a fence...

Anyway - good luck !

I have to agree with tjwgrr, 31 approaches at the White Castle there has to be the greatest spot to spot airplanes at the whole airport. I just love watching the 757s suprise you at treetop level over the houses there. As far as the DICKtator goes, don't kid yourself, he's either of Hitler's line or he's of Stalin's line, but he sure as heck ain't from the house of David. He's been screwing up the city internally left and right and trying to do good things in the public to make up for it. This is the guy who wants to build a park over Meigs with a now bankrupt park fund and hike property and sales taxes in Chicago to cover for it despite the fact that Friends of Meigs has a new proposal for a park, airport, and aviation museum that wouldn't cost taxpayers a dime. Then again, this is also the same Demolition Dick that wants to freeze taxes at 7%. Can't have it both ways Dick, doesn't work  Angry.
