Wed Feb 11, 2004 4:08 pm

LAB's has changed it's schedule at Washington Dulles, and will now connect Washington Dulles directly to Cochabamba, Bolivia on Sundays, with a stop in Miami. LAB's new schedule to Dulles:

Thursdays: VVI-MIA-IAD-MIA-VVI
Sundays: VVI-MIA-IAD-MIA-CBB

All LAB service to Dulles operates with Boeing 767-300ER.

You see, thats better, instead of having the aircraft sit in MIA from 6 AM in the morning to 9 PM in the night, its better to send it to IAD.

AR, wanted to do that but the CATII stoped them from doing it, they once had EZE-MIA-JFK-MIA-EZE, but it was a short period because they had shortage in A/C.

Another pet peeve of mine on this board. Since the automatic code-recognizer has no clue what VVI or CBB is, neither do I. Please, if your code isn't recognized, tell us what airport you're talking about.

More than having aircraft sitting for hours in the Miami sunshine it has to do with strategy: A huge population of Bolivians and a lot of people from Cochabamba live since long in Virginia, which makes IAD a great profit destination for LAB>> I heard, the route is doing just fine with load factors.

Be prepared, LAB is thinking of spreading wings to LAX where the situation is similar. And also why, because Bolivia has cat. 1 now, which enables flights to more destinations in the US. A merit!
