Prior to 9/11, Delta had served JFK
through Phoenix for a number of years. However, sometime in 1999, Delta upgraded SAN
to a nonstop flight on a BusinessElite 767. The route probably didn't perform well, as it was downgraded to a 757, then a 738, and then simply dropped completely in favor of the one-stop 767 flight through Phoenix, again. This flight was dropped itself about a year ago.
Sadly, neither Delta nor American offer Business Class service to JFK
anymore. I had several great flights in J going SAN
. Now all AA
flies are old, "LRTC" 757s. Still, it's great to see Delta reentering the market with 2 daily flights, as well as American resuming 3x daily service, starting this spring.
I think CO
will upgrade one of its SAN
flights to a 757 this summer--I wonder if it will be an internationally configured aircraft with BusinessFirst seats?
