Island Express To IAH

Fri Feb 13, 2004 11:05 pm

Island Express is applying to start service between Johannesburg, South Africa and Houston Intercontinental via Sao Tome. Interesting route, hope it is approved and they do well, but wish they were coming to DFW instead!

They've officially applied or is it just a rumor? Cause I heard the same thing over at the IAH Spotter's Club. Fingers are crossed--hopefully the route lasts a decent amount of time. I won't get my hopes up until I see their 747SPs lined up at Terminal D.

That would be great news for IAH and Texas in general. First scheduled non-stop from Texas to Africa, if the rumor is true. Maybe CO will follow with non-stops to LOS?

From what I understand, they are getting their stuff in order to apply for the route authority. They have not yet, as far as I know, but they are supposedly applying in the near future. Sorry bout the delayed response!
