When will UPS paint the 747 fleet in the new color scheme?

Never from what i hear. They are being retired at their next heavy check. Also, some of the 727s are heading to the desert while being replaced by MD-11s and A300s. I think 5-6 727s are being retired and 10-15 planes coming online.

The current fleet plans shows no 747s to be repainted. We should be down to around 12 727s by year end and currently we have no plans to park any more DC-8s other than the four already. The 747 fleet is in constant flux with some days the company wanting to park them sooner and some days the company wanting to park them later. All the leased 747-200s are scheduled to be returned as their leases expire, the final group of 747s should be the four owned -200s, 520, 521, 522, 523.

Yes, no plans to repaint the 747's. In fact it is evident that the 747 days are numbered at UPS. PHL used to see 3 747's a day and now see's 3 MD-11's and probably 6 A300's and a 747 occasionally. It is nice to see the first A300 in the NC recently

Any rumors floating around that UPS will acquire 747-400 Special Freighters?

Any updates on the "Hollywood great" N675UP?

675 was the star of "Airport '75." She played the part of Columbia 409.

It looks like her time with us is dwindling, but she will always live on in our memories through the small screen.

Long live N675UP, Charlton Heston and Erik Estrada.

Actually 675 is alive and well, she was repainted in the old scheme last year and looks pretty good. I flew her a few months ago and she ran well.

What lines does 675 usually fly? We don't get many UPS 747s in Phoenix. But, I'd love the chance to see a "movie star."

Glad they patched up the gaping hole in the side of the cockpit. Big grin
