Incident In ATH Airport?

Sun Feb 15, 2004 3:48 am

Maybe you have seen the snow covering Greece on TV.
Friday, the airport was closed.
Today, it is reopen. 1 runway only. The other one looks like a Nordic ski track...
I have been told that a Thai aircraft had an incident during landing, with no injury, but had to be evacuated.
couldn't find on the net , and I don't speak Greek, so watching local TV doesn't really help.
Can anyone confirm ? Was it an MD11, or another aircraft type? What are the details?
Any link will be appreciated

RE: Incident In ATH Airport?

The only thing I found out was that the wing of a Cyprus Airways A330 hit some snow while taxiing and some damage was caused. The greek government gave a 3M euros fine to the airport authorities because not all necessary actions were taken in order for the airport to operate as efficiently as possible.
