To me, the MD-80's are boring anyway. Probably because I live in the south and I have to use American's DFW airport a lot, which means, I ALWAYS have to ride on MD-80's. To me, the MD-80 isn't at all that interesting near the wing. The flaps are small, and the wing is simple. Plus, the closer you get to the wing, the louder the engines get. However, I have flown first many a time on an MD-80, and for some reason, the closer you get to the front, (in first class) you get to hear a constant high pitched hissing noise that gets old after a long flight from DFW to BOS. Now, the best seat in the house to me, is the first window seat on the left, assuming that the plane is configured 2-3. You are away from the engines, away from the front, you have a ton of legroom, only one passenger to climb over if you have to go to the bathroom, and it's really quiet here. Just my opinion! Happy flying!
