Alot of what happens to PHL
's terminals will depend on the configuation the FAA chooses for the new runways. There is alot of moving around they would have to do depending on what they choose. Some requires nooone at all. Reports in the Philadelphia Inquirer show plans for a combined lobby check in area for Terminals D and E. Similar to B/C. This would allow for more room in the crammped bag rooms of the airlines in D and E as well as one check point for security for both piers, with TEN lanes. This will integrate E into the rest of the airport And releave congestion inthe bagrooms and security lines.
One good thing about E's isolation...If there is a security breach E never had to be evacuated like the other terminals. They were completely independent. But that was the one and only plus to this arrangement.
As far as transportation goes currently US is running shuttle busses bak anf forth from C to F. There will be a new route from C to A. Making the commtue from gate to gate much easier. I feel this may only be a stop gap measure until a monorail system is put in place. There is one place you can always build...UP
