MDC MD-80 Crash-landing Test Flight

Tue Feb 17, 2004 12:49 pm

I just came across this video from, and I was wondering what happened? Why did the tail come off after that landing and what did MDC do about it afterwards? Seemed like a really hard landing!

Did this delay certification? Pardon my ignorance, but this is the first I've heard of an MDC test flight gone awry.

One doesn't discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time
