MDC MD-80 Crash-landing Test Flight

Tue Feb 17, 2004 12:49 pm

I just came across this video from airdisaster.com, and I was wondering what happened? Why did the tail come off after that landing and what did MDC do about it afterwards? Seemed like a really hard landing!

Did this delay certification? Pardon my ignorance, but this is the first I've heard of an MDC test flight gone awry.

Try doing a search for "MD-80" and you will find this was discussed extensively not too long ago.
