SN Expects Positive 2003 Results!

Tue Feb 17, 2004 8:42 pm

SN Brussels Airlines says it will reach break even in 2003, maybe even end the year with a slight positive result!

So far, all but one month (i.e. December) are fully reviewed and approved and the results up to November show a net profit of €0,6 million on a net revenue of €487 million. The final figures for last year will only be released after approval by the Board in March.

Not bad for a company build on the ashes of Sabena...  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

That's wonderful!

If only we had done the same thing with Crossair after SR's demise! Take a few Avro's, only fly to profitable destinations.....

And I've just learned that SN will operate former LX's charter flights out of GVA this Summer (IBZ, PMI and 3 other dest.), as we've retired too many a/c and can't face our customer demand.

Some more achievements....
SN's market share in Belgium increased from 44,3% (2002) to 50,2% (2003), making SN the indisputable number one in Brussels.
SN's load factor rose 11% compared to 2002.
The average punctuality throughout 2003 reached an excellent score of 91,80% (compared to the AEA average of 80,05%), placing SN in 3rd position in the Association of European Airlines ranking.

For 2004, it seems SN plans to increase its profitability during weekends and holiday periods by means of charter flights from GVA to several Mediterranean holiday destinations (PMI, IBZ, MRS, Corsica,...). For the upcoming summer season, SN has already contracted more than 43% more hours than in 2003.

In the financial news paper french speaking ofthis morning " l"echo de la bourse", they are speaking about a reflexion about a fleet renewal from june!

Maybe the brand new EB 190 , with just the jetblue orders ( 100 machines )
will be the next flagship of SNBA.

GOOD LUCK from the heart of Europe
