We're lucky we have commercial aviation out of National!!! Seriously, the proximity of National to the Pentagon, White House and Capitol building make it unlikely that GA
will return. Conceivably, they could put a gross weight cap and limit it to smaller props, but that's really not the type of GA
traffic that would need DCA
. There are enough alternative airfields to justify keeping DCA
closed to GA
. In addition to IAD
and Manassas, there is Montgomery County and College Park (smaller airfields).
