Actually US is slightly ahead of schedule, they have more cash on hand then most thought and their costs are shrinking. It will take some time but US will survive. I know that this will upset some of the people on here, but look at the situation seriously, CO
was in the same situation twice and they came through it, HP
was close also and they turned it around. What is going to happen is US is going to see what CO
/HP/WN did and or doing and blend in some of their (US) ideas and keep going. Basically US has to get to the unions and get the hourly rate of pay down to a WN
/HP level and everything will be alright. I am part of the US family (Express side/Mesa) and we are not nearly paid what we should be, but I'm living good, 2 cars, nice house, ect. Some of the senior union boys (Ramp, Ticket Counter, F/A's) at mainline have to see the big picture.Do you want a job earning $18 an hour instead of $25 (example) or no job at all. Think about it. I'd take the $18 and the job, and god knows i'm not earning $18 now and i've been there 8+ years.
