Well, they're just as safe as all the other carriers that ply the atlantic. The airline last had a fatal aircrash in 1985 (a terrorist attack) and that only because Canadian security agents did a sloppy job in screening pax and baggage. As I said, their Y class is shop worn, and needs a MAJOR overhaul, but most transatlantic pax on AI
fly them for the price and you get what you pay for. They aint BA
by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd fly them over Virgin in Y class any day (in spite of Virgin's 200 A/V channels and flashy image) as Virgin's Y class is designed for midgets.
