F-BVFB should be open to public around eastern this year, the museum's website states.

This is, what it will look like (mounted photo, not real yet!):

Thanks, great to see Concorde right beside a TU-144 (in the composite photo). Some of the differences really do come out!  Smile

I think Concorde looks like a pet that has been stuffed when its dead and mounted for all to see, it might look like that loved one but the sparkle has gone, very sad.

Poor Concorde  Sad They should have kept it on the ground, and not mount it above a building.

Hey ACEregular. Your words are absolutely spot on. Mounted, sounds like a bl**dy stud scene. Why did Germany get a Concorde to display? (Mutters) I was at RAF Fairford when 'she' was in the 'prototype stage'. Serving in the RAF at the time but, we were providing the fire/crash vehicles. Funny how those that didn't want any part of the finest passenger aircraft ever built, now want to mount and display it as a kind of 'souvenir. Bl**dy t*ssers. I personally would rather have seen them all scrapped than, be given to 'outsiders'. Strong words? That's because I have very strong feelings about the 'Queen of the skies'

Disgraceful.

Typical German / French tacky idea

Confused by the thread title.

I thought it had something to do with Eastern Airlines coming back with Concorde!

The spring holiday is Easter with no "n"

If you edit the title please delete this post.

I don't like it - they should have kept it on the ground. It looks stupid mounted like that.  Sad

Well, once again it just goes to show you the difference between Air France and British Airways. BA would have never allowed a display like that. But, because Concorde was no more than just another Airbus to AF, they don't care where anyone sticks it. They're just glad to be rid of it.

Sad really.

GERMANY, GIVE BACK CONCORDE!!!

Pardon, it was a french Concorde. I guess this specific aircraft has never been to the island, no reason to get it "back" onto the island!

Obviously, the Technik Museum at Sinsheim is a lousy and not very serious museum which rather puts a slide onto an aircraft then really care for the state of the thing.
I never understood why Air France gave away one of their best aircrafts to such a bad museum for nothing in return. Just look at other pictures from Sinsheim or Speyer and you know what I mean!

Verdict: Air France is to blame, not "Germany"!

I think it is very sad to see this graceful lady in that condition. I flew F-BVFB in April 2003, and it just saddens me to see her, as someone previously said, stuffed like a dead animal. At least let her rest in dignity. It's sad to see some Concordes like this one and the one in NYC....certainly not the ambience that Concorde once exuded in the air  Sad

I was not saying give it back to Britain, I want them to give it back to a country, who Concorde had an affiliation with. I only see the bad connection that all those German tourists died on the AF crash in 2000.

Thumbs up to museums like "Flugwerft Schleissheim/Deutsches Museum Munich" that really care for their aircrafts and don't mess up!

P.s.: I get your point ACEregular.

Well, the museums in Speyer and Sinsheim do place the planes as an attraction one can really experience, not just walk by...take this:

You should go there and see, how they expose the planes, it looks more silly on the posted pics, than it actually is...
And if You don like the idea of "Germany" having a Concorde, just go to AirFrance for whining...the director of the museums is a real aviation and technics enthusiast and he travels far and talks a lot to get more "monuments".

Better see a Concorde on the roof of a museum, together with her Tupolev sister, visible from the Autobahn as well, than have a museum like that:

Well, Nudelhirsch,

I don't need a slide out of the Cockpit of an airplane to really "experience" it!
Just my opinion...
