What You Should Not Say In An Airport

Mon Feb 23, 2004 5:31 am

When walking through security or onto a a/c if your family member or relatives name is Jack, you never want to scream out:

HIJACK

Any more you can think off pass them along!!!

say "Hey Jack".

Don't say "bomb".
Last year 1,944 New Yorkers saw something and said something.

Don't say "bomb"

Like that one scene in "Meet The Parents":

Norm: You threatened that stewardess with a bomb.

Greg Focker: No I said I didn't have a bomb.

Norm: But you said bomb.

Greg Focker: What is wrong with saying bomb on an airplane?

Norm: You can't say bomb on an airplane.

Greg Focker: Bomb bomb bomb bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb bomb. During the war I was a BOMBadier.

"Do you know how important I am?" Don't say something like that. It just shows how unimportant you are.

Never say to the airport Police " Hey, Didn't I see you get your butt kicked last night on Cops ? "
The opinions I post are of mine and mine alone, not of the airline I work for.

COTXDFW777AA,
Your's reminds me of this time we were waiting for our A320 to be fixed at YYZ and I was talking to the pilot and I said
"Don't you just hate having to have the stick on the side and no yoke?" and on and on just keepen w/ the airbus bashing.

"kid if you were smart you would go away b/c at the rate your going you might want to go to that gate over there and jump on that flight, I hear they're flying a 767, you'll fit right in w/ them!"

He was kidding and we actually talked for a while and he let me in the jump all the way to the sec b4 closing the door and pushback.

On New years day this year I had just arrived from LHR and was standing in the immigration line at JFK. Someone in line asked the question what would make the immigration officers suspect that a passenger trying to enter the country could be a terrorist. Without thinking I turned around to him and said "Well... the wires sticking out of their pockets might be an indication that this is someone who they would want to take a good look at." Some of the people around me who heard this thought it was funny and laughed, but I looked around nervously thinking "Oh oh... maybe I should not have said that" Anyway I was not handcuffed and thrown to the ground or anything like that, but what do you think? Could this statement have gotten me in trouble?

Depends on the mood. If everyone around you was laughing, I highly doubt it. A little sense of humor is okay and I think Customs and TSA allow some of it to a degree.

VC10BOAC-

yes, you are very lucky you were shackled and thrown to the ground right there! those people in the immigration hall at jfk are such jerks! never have i found ANY of them pleasant.

oh, and i had my mobile confiscated once, and yelled at another time--note, i wasnt actually ON the phone, i pulled it out to check the time--which is not prohibited, as only being ON the phone is. so i had to argue that both times to keep my phone.

Well, you shouldn't borrow someone else's mobile and call your wife and tell her you were kidnapped by Al Qaeda, as that Moroccan guy from Chicago did last week....

The signs at JFK say that phones should be turned off.
