BRS-GLA Routing?

Hi,

New to this, so please forgive me if this is posted in any way wrong!

I had a discussion recently with someone who suggested that northbound BRS-GLA flights go over Brecon. I was under the impression they kept more England side of the border than that northbound. I know southbound they overfly Brecon. Can anybody give me typical routings please? This is mainly for Easyjet but I'm sure BA use the same/similar routes.

I would guess if the runway in use at GLA was the SE-NE runway (5?) then the BRS-GLA flights would try to use the airways up the west coast. If the 23? runway is in use then perhaps the flight would operate up the east coast before descending into GLA.

I couldn't remember flying over Brecon Beacons but you should get a nice view of Liverpool airport next to the Mersey eastuary. I only flew GLA-BRS so I guess it must be the same northbound.

British Airways and Easyjet both use the same standard routing for BRS-GLA flights, not surprisingly because it is the quickest one!

The route is as follows:

BRECON UN864 NITON UY98 NOKIN UY99 RIBEL UN601 MARGO

Routing BRECON-NITON the aircraft heads North up the middle of Wales.

At NITON in central Wales the track changes to North-North East towards RIBEL, located in the Pennines to the North East of Leeds/Bradford.

The route tracks towards MARGO, and eventually Glasgow,in a North-North Westerly direction up the western side of the country, remaining overland.

The flown route will be the same, irrespective of which runways are in use.

One-way airways mean the only other feasible BRS-GLA route under normal circumstances would be out over Dublin, but that will add a good 5-10 min extra flying.
