Eagle Discontinues "Buy on Board"

American Eagle has made the decision to conclude and discontinue the buy on board test with SkyChefs effective yesterday, Feb. 26.

Because of the limited number of people purchasing buy on board items and the logistical challenges, SkyChefs and American Eagle were unable to come to a long-term agreement that would be financially or operationally beneficial for either company.

Beginning today, Eagle will self-cater beer and wine on the nine buy on board markets where liquor is currently offered at the same rate of $5.

Additionally, beginning in April, Eagle plans to offer beer and wine for sale on all flights after 11:00 a.m. systemwide where beverage service is offered.

These changes will not affect the service currently being offered on the northeast shuttle markets (LGA-DCA-BOS).
