Best Airline/airplane Movie?

Sun Feb 29, 2004 6:10 pm

There have been many film related to aviation. The more documentary style like Freefall (Air Canada flight running out of fuel). The more serious kind  Smile (Airport part 1 to 100). Wesley Snipes also did a movie on board of a plane.

But .... in my opinion Flying High with Robert hays and Julie Hagerty is the best ever. The scene in the cockpit just before take off and the scene where the FA is blowing the autopilot are killing

Any more suggestions for best airline/airplane related movie?

I agree with you Dutchflyer: Roger and Over! Yes?

With Leslie Nielsen as Pilot, simply the best " movie" ever.

Definitely AIRPLANE! I just love the exterior shots of the 707 in flight but on the soundtrack it sounds like an old recip airliner.  Laugh out loud

Mine has to be Air Force One.. the bit where AF1 runs out of fuel and dumps in the sea is amazing. The first time i saw it i couldnt beleive it, it was amazing. And the refuelling bit ruled too... or was that another film??

Air Force One is one of the best. That`s sure. Great actors (Harrison Ford),
spectacular action.
But the older Movie "Airport" with Burt Lancaster ist really good, too....

AIRPLANE! takes the cake in my opinion. The comedy never stops and it leaves me in stitches whenever I see it. Laugh out loud From the disco floor, to Captain Oveur shifting the 707 into First for taxi, to the "Automatic Pilot," it's the best in my eyes. It might be tacky of me to say this, but it's quite possibly my favorite movie ever.
