If anyone has not seen the JAN/FEB 2004 issue of Airliners Magazine, there is an excellent story by Art Brett. Art had the great opportunity to shoot runway side at JFK in the 70's.

This brought back a lot of memories for me. I was stationed at Patuxent River, Maryland from 1998-2001 and the parking lot at my place of employment was actually touching the runway edge. I have seen a host of fighters, C-5's, C-32's, KC-10's, E-6 TACAMO's and even saw 82-8000, one of the presidential 747's, do a touch n go. We were so close you could actually see the wheels spinning as the aircraft got airborne. There is absolutely nothing like it.

Thanks for the great article Art.  Big thumbs up
