I think this issue of endorsing ID
tickets is a "gray area", I believe a carrier who accepts your ID
ticket showing another carrier will ultimately get the money as long as both the issuing carrier and operating carrier interline. No matter how much planning one takes into ensuring you have as many tickets needed to go point A to B, you ultimately will find yourself in a situation where you ask another carrier to accept another carrier's ID
tix. Most ground staff will accomodate as we are all in the same boat, although some will not.
Just like PA110 said-that airlines pool on certain markets and will freely accept each others ID
tix. One time I was trying to use my DL
pass benefits to non-rev on OS
, (actually VO VIE
, where I was supposed to have an ID90 on VO
), and the VO
flight was only booked with a handfull of pax-so the OS
staff called the pax to the gate and put on an OK
flight. I saw what was happening and knew there was no way I would get on this flight as my DL
internal pass was worthless to OK
, but to my surprise I was called and given a seat on the OK
flight. Perhaps this was an example of a "local agreement" where staff have authority to do this.
