I'd have to say that its the A330 and the A340. If thats not it, then I'd have to say its the 757 and the Tu-204. I eagerly await the answer.

I would guess that Boeing's 757 and 767 have the same nose section.

My guess on the U.S. version would be that Airbus has never built a three-holer...

Boeing had the 727 and McDonald Douglas had the DC10/MD11 series

I would have to say BMI and Airbus. BMI has never been part of BA and Airbus has never been part of Boeing, they have never built a three holer, they are not based in the USA, and they have never had a former chairman become chairman of Boeing.

I'de have to say that Airbus because it has never been a part of boeing. If that's not what your looking for, how about this:
Boeing because it is the only one that really produces nice a/c. Just joking, the airbus company produces some fine a/c but i am american so, boeing to me is better in all ways.

US edition: odd one out is Airbus, not based in the USA. Isn't McDonnell Douglas now part of Boeing, or it has been incorporated into it? So, my answer for the US edition is: AIRBUS

Didn't the DC-1 and DC-2 have the same nose and wing sections?

I know that they weren't the same, but I've seen a picture of a DC-3 with a DC-2 wing. Appearently, it actually flew in China during WWII...

As for the Airbus/Boeing/MDD:

I would say MDD because it never built a widebody or extendbody twin-jet (Airbus A321 and A300/310/330; Boeing 757 and 767/777). The closest MDD ever got was a proposal for a twin-jet DC-8, a proposal for a twin-jet DC-10 and actually building the MD-80.
Those who fail to learn history are doomed to repeat it in summer school.

Well done Alcregular. correct, Dan-Air and BCal were both taken over by BA. As the chairman of BA said at the time to the chairman of BCal.. you keep the name British and we'll keep the name Airways!

And well done Ulfinator. Correct!

Spike...I believe I was the first to touch on all three things that set the other two apart from Airbus. Just FYI. SO, you can't just choose one correct answer when there are more than one.

That was a good question. As you can tell, I missed it the first time but when I took another look, the little wheels caught my eye.

I guess the designers used tail wheels instead of a skid because they were expecting lots of tailstrikes!  Laugh out loud

727 and 737 shared a common section 41--but not the same as 707

As does the 767 and 777.
Clearly the A330/340 are both the same.
F28/F70/F100 althought the latter withough the eyebrow windows.
