Airbus Factory Tour

Thu Mar 04, 2004 1:44 am

I was looking at the airbus website and couldn't find out if Airbus gives factory tours in Toulouse. Does anyone know if they do this and if it would be available April 2???

Thanks in advance

I dont know about Airbus. Last month I took a tour at Boeing in Everett, great tour, if anyone has the chance of going to Seattle, you should go and check out the largest building in the world.

I have also done the Everett tour and loved it. It was really impressive.

Yes, Airbus does that too. I went last Friday to TLS with Citybird VA. We did a factory tour (we did a busride, saw the assembly hall of the A330/A340's, saw Beluga's - very impressive), we visited the prototype of the Concorde, we visited 'Ailes Anciennes Toulouse' (they make a/c look like new  Wink/being sarcastic - saw the Super Guppy, a Caravelle, etc.). After the tour, you can buy souvenirs in the little Boutique.

Too bad we could only take pics from the Ailes Anciennes-planes, and not on the site (cameras are not allowed)

In fact, I took a little folder with me. Here are contact addresses, etc.

So, hope this will help!

UAL747-600:

If you were impressed and loved the Everett tour, and if you happen to also be going to Germany, I strongly suggest that you go on the Hamburg Airbus tour. Both the Toulouse and Everett tours pale in comparison. Instead of a movie/bus trip/look-see from a viewing platform, you actually WALK through the production facility! And if you are lucky, you will actually go inside fuselage barrels while they are being joined. Unfortunately, they will be changing the tour to the Boeing/Airbus (Toulouse) format next year.
