US Realeses "dot Com" Livery

Sat Mar 06, 2004 1:23 am

OK, I did a search and I could not find any other threads abouth this subject yet so....

US has launched a new new livery that will be appearing on 10 aircraft. This new paint job adertises usairwyas.com with the slogan: "No booking fees. No Brainer".

The look is USAir retro: bare metal silver, with the red and white cheat line, while maintaining the current tail.

Since they went with a bare metal look, I assume the 10 aircraft will all be Boeings (As I under stand bare metal on Airbii require special coating).

It looks half-assed. Not really an example of using your livery to sell your product.

I agree with Mark (LHMARK). Did anyone put any thought into this? Even the photo looks unprofessional. The retro look is horrible. The paint job is dull. Come on, is that the best they can do? Is that how you reach out to 'hip' clients who will use the net to book. No wonder why USAirways is having such difficulties if this is what their marketing / branding team can produce.

That is not a nice livery. Maybe their way of pretending to paint the 737s when really they're leaving them the same as the old scheme. If they're actually stripping paint off the navy blue fleet for this, they're crazy.

The paint has to be removed off a number of aircraft due to lap joint repairs/inspections.

The photo looks hideous, but the plane itself is very nice. Saw it in the sunshine in CLT today and it really shines.

I agree with N628AU, I shot N573US (the first bare metal aircraft, except without the "usair.com" titles yet) last Sunday. You could see things refelcting in the belly while it was still a good mile or two out on final. The photo used in the official press release is absolutely horrible. You would think they'd at least try to take a better photo of the plane.

My shot is in the database, I won't bother plugging it since I've got enough views already.  Yeah sure

New slogan for the aircraft

"Don't book after July, no brainer!"
