FR Launches New Route - Prestwick-Rome

Sat Mar 06, 2004 6:50 pm

Ryanair, the low fares airline, has announced the launch of a new year-round route from Glasgow (Prestwick) - to Rome (Ciampino).

It will be the carrier's second Italian route from the Scottish airport.

Starting on 29th April, it will offer substantially cheaper tickets than BA - a one-way standard fare on FR will be £29.99, compared to BA's lowest one-way fares of £680.10 (via MAN) and £622.60 (via LHR) (these fares are from and for travel on the 4th March).

Ciampino is actually closer to the city of Rome than FCO - the airport which BA serves.
