Hello all you Non-Rev Jet Setters...
So my non-airline friends have decided that I need to take them to HKG
or Tokyo this June. I immediately cringed at the thought of flying anywhere standby during the summer but I thought I'd get others opinions.
I'm a seasoned NonRev flyer but I've never gone to HKG
or Narita standby (just on business). I checked all the loads for some random dates in June and tried to do a trend analysis from SFO
to either city, but I can't find any rhythm or rhyme to the loads! One flight will have 100 booked in Y and another will show 50. First and Business class are consistent across the board for all the flight loads. What's up?? Are these cities very popular summer destinations for Americans to visit? How big a deal is typhoon season anyway??
Also, should I just write off HKG
since we (UA) only have once daily to SFO
and once daily to ORD
compared to all the traffic in and out of Narita?? I'd rather not have to connect HKG
Any advice? Is it worth going for? Granted both cities are fantastic, but that's not my concern. I just want to make sure we all get there and back!
The debate continues... Starwood or Hyatt... which is better
